Mayor Neil Perry and Director Patrick Bower of the Department of Public Works are pleased to announce that the City of Methuen will begin regularly scheduled collection of yard waste on Tuesday, May 30, 2022 (please note, due to the Memorial Day holiday, pick-up is delayed by a day the week of May 29).
“Yard waste will be picked up on the regular schedule that coincides with recycling collection every two weeks,” said Mayor Perry. “We realize we are off to a late start, but will collect yard waste through the week ending July 21.”
“We understand the frustration our citizens have been feeling and we greatly appreciate their patience as we worked through the process of putting a contract in place to secure a vendor to temporarily provide this service,” said Mayor Perry. “Our long-term plan remains to purchase a packer truck so we can perform this service in-house in the future. However, that goal has proven to be more difficult to achieve than anticipated,” he concluded.
